面對本季全聯盟最棒的球隊金州勇士，克里夫蘭騎士總冠軍賽前3戰取得2勝1負，關鍵人物除了「小皇帝」LeBron James，還有這位，Matthew Dellavedova。
Dellavedova總冠軍賽頂替受傷的主控Kyrie Irving先發，原本只是銜命看管勇士主將Stephen Curry的他，越打越有信心，10日第3戰攻下20分，成為騎士第2得分點。
騎士此役全隊得到96分，有78分來自James、Dellavedova的得分或助攻，更重要的是，在他的防守下，Curry今天12投5中，當其他隊友防守時，Curry是6投5中。
不僅整場與Curry如影隨形，Dellavedova對球的渴望無人能及，最後54秒奮不顧身地飛撲搶球，也是騎士守住勝果的功臣。
「我想他應該是鋼鐵做的，或是其他的甚麼東西。」James表示：「如果地上有顆球，他總是第一個躺在地上的，他今晚已經示範很多次了。」
看著Dellavedova賣命的猶他爵士Rudy Gobert也相當「熱血」，在Twitter上表示：「如果你坐在場邊，你接到Delly的機率可能比接到球還高。」
本季例行賽，Dellavedova先發13場比賽，騎士只贏2場，不過季後賽4度先發都幫助球隊獲勝，總冠軍賽更是成為超級「奇兵」。
